BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Sheilah Davenport – J.D., MS, BSN, RN – Board Chair, is the CEO of Health Care Systems and Solutions Consulting. She has worked with the Office of the Inspector General for the Maryland Department of Health and is currently employed with the Maryland Board of Nursing. She is a graduate of the University of Maryland School of Law, and holds a Masters degree from the University of Maryland School of Nursing.
Anthony M. "Tony" Everett - MPC, BA - President & CEO (Ex-officio) was appointed President & CEO in October 2016. He has been with Neighbor To Family since 2003 and was formerly NTF's Vice President of Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina and South Carolina programs. Everett holds a Masters in Professional Counseling from Argosy University and a Bachelors in Psychology from Georgia State University.
Ameka Smith – is the Executive Director of the Y in Central Maryland Head Start. She has worked in many capacities at the Y since 2018, including Regional Director, Director of Education & Child Development, and Program Director for pre-kindergarten. She also served three years at the Bon Secours Family Support Center in Baltimore. She is a graduate of Capella University with a Masters of Marriage, Couples, and Family Therapy.
Barbara “Bobbi” McCormick – is retired from the Defense Contract Audit Agency as FAO Assistant for Quality. She also has a background in auditing with the same agency. She has experience as an Administrative Officer for the Comptroller of the Treasury and has a vast knowledge of fiscal services. She is a graduate of Stevenson University with a Master in Forensic Accounting.
Augustine Grace - BB,MBA - Augustine A. Grace is retired from the Export Import Bank of Washington D.C., an independent agency of the U.S. Government. He held a number of positions at the bank including Senior Business Development Officer. Mr. Grace received his B.B. degree in Mathematics from Central Connecticut State University. MBA from Fordham University and graduate degree from Stonier Graduate School of Banking (Rutgers University). He also served a three year tour of duty in the Army.
Mekeshia Bates - DNP, MDIV, MPH, MSN, RN - a doctorally-prepared adult psychiatric nurse practitioner licensed in Maryland and Washington, DC. Dr. Bates is a cum laude graduate of Wake Forest University (Winston-Salem, NC). She completed her graduate studies at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH earning a Masters of Science in Nursing (focus on Adult Psychiatric/ Mental Health), a Masters in Public Health (focus on Health Policy and Administration), and a Doctorate in Nursing Practice. She is also the first nurse to complete the Cleveland (OH) Veterans Affairs National Quality Scholars Fellowship. Dr. Bates is a published author and has conducted numerous presentations on her research on genetic testing, African American males, quality improvement, and mental health.
